In some states, golf wanes in the late summer months heading into fall. However, in Minnesota, many continue to golf right up until the first snow hits. We never know how long our winters will last, and many want to get in as much golf as possible.

If you’re one of those people who loves to golf until the snow comes, there are a variety of things you can do to celebrate National Golf Month, which is every August. Here, our team at Burl Oaks Golf Club will discuss different ways you and your family and friends can celebrate your love of golf.

●      Head to the Course

No matter if you are a casual golfer or an avid player, the easiest way to celebrate National Golf Month is to head out to a course and start playing. Getting a group of family and friends together to play, going out by yourself, or working on your drives and putts are all easy reasons to hit the course and better your game for the future.

●      Introduce a Friend or Family Member to the Game

What better way to celebrate golf than to introduce someone you love to the game you enjoy? If one of your friends has always mentioned tagging along with you on one of your outings, bring them along and let them learn the game. You could also bring your kids, nieces, nephews, and other family members out to the course to teach them the game at a young age.

●      Take a Lesson

You are never too old, too young, or too experienced to take golf lessons. If you’ve been playing for years and want to work out a slight flaw in your swing, consider taking a lesson to relearn the basics. Additionally, if you’re new to the game, no matter your age, you can always take a lesson to learn the basics and work your way to the player you want to be.

●      Set Up a Family and Friends Tournament

A simple way to bring your family and friends together over your love of golf is to set up a small, informal tournament. Your relatives and friends of all ages can play, and you can all chip in to set up a small monetary prize for the winner, or you could celebrate with a big cookout at the end of the day.
